”Mr.新聞”逝く

渡邊恒雄氏は功罪言われる人でした。朝日、毎日新聞などに象徴する人はいません。読売だけでなく新聞界の顔でした。デフォルメして意地悪な似顔が多いのですが、僕は敬意を表して上品に描きました。

Mr. Tsuneo Watanabe was a man who was said to be a man of merit. There is no one who symbolizes it in the Asahi or Mainichi newspapers. He was the face of not only the Yomiuri but also the newspaper world. Many of them are deformed and mean, but I drew them elegantly out of respect.
